Stern 9mm Bolt (SD BU9 NIB ECHO)

Posted by James R Dowis Jr on Feb 19th 2019

I purchased this bolt bucause I have always heard that 9mm ARs can be undependable . I had already bought Sterns Mag Adapter and felt like my best bet would be to use their bolt. I was right-I have fired reloaded ammunition , every thing from hot loads to a special load I developed to keep the noise level low without a suppressor, and have experimented with several diffrent buffers and springs. When I pull the trigger my gun fires every time. I have never owned an AR type gun that feeds like this and I have owned quiet a few. I guess I have put close to 2000 rounds through it and I don't remember having one failure that wasn't from something I did like an upside down primer. I havent gotten around to putting an Echo Trigger in it yet but I can tell it will work by looking at the bolt. I have several which is another reason I bought this bolt. I may drop one in it tommorow. My gun is a 10.5 inch pistol build with a fixed sight post. It looks like a short barreled M4 Carbine. Stern knows what they are doing. , Jim Dowis
